The Northeastern women’s hockey team played Providence College this weekend, losing 4-1 on Saturday at Schneider Arena. On Sunday, the Huskies turned it around at Matthews Arena as sophomore goaltender Sarah Foss notched her first career win with a 6-2 victory.
Northeastern women’s hockey faced two Beantown rivals this week, losing to Boston College (BC) 6-1 on Saturday at home, and defeating Boston University (BU) 6-3 Tuesday at Walter Brown Arena.
Senior captain goaltender Chloe Desjardins had a 28-save shutout this week, leading the Northeastern women’s hockey team to a 2-0 victory over the University of New Hampshire (UNH) at Whittemore Center in Durham, N.H. However, the Huskies were not able to keep the streak, coming away with a 1-0 loss against University of Maine at Matthews Arena on Saturday.
The Northeastern women’s hockey team made two comebacks while away against Robert Morris University (RMU) but still fell short in a 3-2 loss on Friday and a 2-2 tie on Saturday. On Tuesday, the team was defeated by Boston University (BU) 3-2 on the Terriers’ home turf. In the game against BU, the Huskies almost overcame a three-goal deficit, scoring two goals in the third period.
The Northeastern women’s hockey team ended this weekend with a 4-0 win on Friday followed by a 4-2 loss on Saturday, both against Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa.
After facing a professional Canadian team in its first exhibition game, the Northeastern women’s hockey team beat the Oakville Hornets, a high school Canadian team, 5-1 at Matthews Arena on Saturday.
The women’s ice hockey team flew west to Vail, Colo. last weekend for two hard-fought matchups against the University of Wisconsin and St. Cloud State University (SCSU) in Minnesota.
