Rising sophomore Éloïse Caron and incoming freshman Stryker Zablocki have been named to Canada’s National Women’s Development Team. They are among just 13 forwards selected to play in the three-game series in Lake Placid, N.Y., from Aug. 13 to 16, and two of the three players chosen from Hockey East.
Caron, a Québec native, was a powerful striker in her inaugural year, notching 11 goals and 16 assists. Her powerful breakaways and connection with linemate Morgan Jackson secured the team several decisive victories throughout the 2024-25 season. Caron started off working on the first line with forwards graduate Skylar Irving and graduate student Jaden Bogden, but after a penalty-riddled middle of the season, she found her footing once more on the second line with Jackson and Allie Lalonde.
Before joining Northeastern, Caron won gold at the 2023 IIHF U18 World Championship and was assistant captain of Team Québec at the Jeux du Canada that same year.Zablocki, a Saskatchewan native, won gold with Team Canada at the 2025 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship, where she was named to the All Star Team. She also won bronze at the 2024 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship with Team Canada, where she was named “Top Forward.” Zablocki will be joining the Huskies in the 2025-26 season for her freshman year.
