Northeastern police officer shot during training session

A Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) officer was hit by a ricocheting bullet around 6 p.m. Wednesday at a firing range on Moon Island in Boston Harbor, according to Boston Police Department (BPD) officials.

Clubs look to social media to engage students

Student leaders who want to change this are attempting to engage more on-campus students in university activities through the Web. Clubs and organizations are increasingly turning to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter and to connect with students who are not checking out different activities at campus fairs during the week.

Feds charge 2008 Northeastern grad in terror plot

Rezwan Ferdaus, a 2008 Northeastern graduate, was arrested yesterday for plotting to attack the Pentagon and US Capitol with C-4 explosive-packed remote controlled aircraft, according to a press release issued by U.S. District Attorney for Massachusetts Carmen M. Ortiz.

Police, universities step up enforcement across Boston

Boston police officers have stepped up enforcing alcohol laws, going so far as arresting college students in areas like Mission Hill and Allston where residents have complained vigorously about noise and open container violations.
