A Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) officer was hit by a ricocheting bullet around 6 p.m. Wednesday at a firing range on Moon Island in Boston Harbor, according to Boston Police Department (BPD) officials.
Tuesday, Sept. 20, 11:15 a.m. - A student reported he locked his bike outside International Village (INV) on Sept. 3 and on Sept. 20 he discovered the front tire still locked to the rack but the rest of the bike missing.
College of Engineering Dean David Luzzi’s promotion to Strategic Security Initiative executive director for Northeastern makes him the university’s second dean this month to leave a position, and potentially puts another college in a bind as the search for Luzzi’s successor begins.

Rezwan Ferdaus, a 2008 Northeastern graduate, was arrested yesterday for plotting to attack the Pentagon and US Capitol with C-4 explosive-packed remote controlled aircraft, according to a press release issued by U.S. District Attorney for Massachusetts Carmen M. Ortiz.

Boston Police Department (BPD) officers found Matthew Glass’ red 2000 Dodge Dakota this morning on Huntington Avenue near Northeastern, Wrentham police said in a news conference today.
Boston police officers have stepped up enforcing alcohol laws, going so far as arresting college students in areas like Mission Hill and Allston where residents have complained vigorously about noise and open container violations. The effort is part of a larger prevention operation across the city as the Boston Police Department (BPD) puts pressure on colleges to curb underage drinking.
