SGA votes down Speaker of the Senate plan

SGA senators rejected a proposal Monday to develop a new internally-elected position, speaker of the senate, which would have allowed one person to take over the executive vice president’s duty of chairing meetings.

A Northeastern University Division of Police Safety (NUPD) officer reported he recognized a known criminal on Forsyth Street. The man, Daniel Kilroy, 28, of Dorchester, was wanted in Waltham, Cambridge and Dorchester for theft. The officer arrested Kilroy and NUPD issued him a trespass warning.

Northeastern joins supercomputer team

If a Northeastern student currently wanted to run an intensive climate change simulation, they might spend months or years behind their desktop. But starting in 2013, a supercomputer in Holyoke will allow researchers to complete the same process in just hours.
