Something about author, screenwriter and director Stephen Chbosky’s story, his profoundly deep understanding of the struggling young adult, touches closer to home.

It’s not every day big name musicians come to Boston, which leaves music lovers searching for something new. It can be difficult when a concert sounds interesting but the band’s music isn’t blaring on the radio every three hours. A new iphone application will have the adventurous and the shy concert-goers of the world rejoicing together.

I have a good friend who grew up in New York City and, unsurprisingly, she takes every opportunity she can to give me a whole spiel about why a life outside of New York isn’t worth living. So when I told her that I would choose Boston over New York any day of the week, I thought she might kill me – if she didn’t go into cardiac arrest first.

At Northeastern, the new photography club, NUPic, sees a future where the art of its members can be appreciated, shared and utilized by other organizations on campus.

With its creation in October 2010, Instagram has given birth to a new generation of budding photographers. The free app allows users to create an account and post photos of just about anything, from Starbucks drinks to sporting events, dorm room décor and cats. One Northeastern student took Instagram to the next level and created a website that filters Instagram photos taken on and around the university’s campus and compiles them in one place.

After settling into new rooms now that the initial surprise of how big or small the space is has rubbed off, the empty white walls might be screaming for potential personal touches to make a generic dorm room feel more like home.

“Autumn winds gently in, washing away summer’s sin...” As summer comes to an end and we welcome the fall season, this also means the comeback of sweaters, seeing the transition of leaves go from green to fiery reds and oranges and ciders. Apple picking, jumping in leaves and carving pumpkins are just some of the perks. There’s just something about the fall season we all love. We ambushed four students to find out what they love most about this beautiful season.

We all look back on our childhoods with rose-colored glasses, with 20/20 hindsight and nostalgic viewfinders. But there was something very special and unique about being a kid in the 1990s and early 2000s. Excuse me while I reminisce for the next 600 words.

Saturday, Sept. 29 Come on, babe, why don’t we paint the town? And all that jazz? Year after year, the Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival has entertained thousands of audience members with jazz, Latin, blues and other acts. Many people come to dance, sing, enjoy and support some of town’s world class musicians. The festival stretches six blocks filled with stages. There will be 70 booths of vendors with great eats, face painting, photos and an instrument painting zoo. This jazzy festival is the place to be this Saturday afternoon. Northeastern students are already on the lookout for fun ways to spend their fall days this semester. Concerts and parties, festivals and expositions; it seems like there’s always something to do in Boston. This weekend, Microsoft SkyDrive will present Boston’s annual CollegeFest at the Hynes Convention Center.
