The volleyball Huskies were impressive in all facets of their game. They lost only one set the whole tournament en route to beating Boston College, Harvard University and the University of Connecticut in the two-day event at Solomon Court.

Skiba named CAA defensive Player of the Week

Volleyball off to blistering start

American actress Mae West had some words of advice regarding the volleyball team’s five game win streak: “One and one is two, and two and two is four, and five will get you ten if you know how to work it.” Fans of the Huskies should know the team’s possession of this five game win streak couldn’t have happened without an undefeated run at the St. John’s classic in Queens, N.Y., last Friday and Saturday.

The volleyball team is back in the playoff hunt after beating Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) 3-1 Friday and William & Mary by the same score Saturday. Northeastern sits fifth in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and is one game out of the fourth and final playoff spot, after Delaware University beat both George Mason University (GMU) and James Madison University (JMU) last week. The Huskies are 16-9 on the season (7-4 CAA), and have three games left, two of which are against GMU and JMU.
