For the first time in 14 years, the Northeastern Huskies took home the Beanpot title after defeating Boston University 4-3 in overtime.
The scoring lead changed sides on multiple occasions and sent the game into overtime, but in the end it was the duo of freshman forward Kendall Coyne and junior forward Casey Pickett who clutched the win for the Huskies, 4-3.
Northeastern was victorious over their namesake Huskies of the University of Connecticut, 3-2, completing the season sweep and improving to an 18-6-3 record on the season.
Tuesday night’s semifinal round of the 34th Annual Women’s Beanpot between the United States College Hockey Organization (USCHO) No. 7 Huskies and the No. 4 Boston College Eagles had to be decided by a shootout, after 1-1 tie at Walter Brown Arena.

Not only is she a graduate student, but she is also advancing her career as a sports journalist.
At 23, Rylan is the oldest player on the team. She is also the only graduate student on the team and a first-year player for the Huskies.
