Northeastern women’s soccer head coach Ashley Phillips announced May 12 that the Huskies have signed eight new players for their upcoming 2026 season.
The addition includes two midfielders, three forwards and three defenders, composed of seven freshmen and one transfer. Midfielders Lula Arcila and Kamble Paterson, forwards Scarlett Baur, Bridget Durkin and Ella McGee and defenders Ruby Mathis, Lauren Sutliffe and Chloe Price will begin their journeys as Huskies in the fall.
Arcila, a Miami native, previously played for Florida United SC for three years, as well as with the Miami Breakers FC for two years prior.
Baur, also from Miami, comes from the Palm Beach Predators. She held Miami Herald’s Girls Soccer 4A-2A Player of the Year title as a high school freshman and is a four-time First Team All-County player.
Durkin, hailing from Evanston, Ill., spent six years with Chicago FC United and was the team’s leading goal scorer for three years.
Mathis, from Acton, Mass., played with the FC Stars of Massachusetts for 12 years and was named to the 2025 All State team.
Out of Monroe, Conn., McGee played for FSA ECNL. She was a state champion in 2025, as well as the state tournament MVP.
Sutliffe, from Duxbury, Mass., previously played for the South Shore Select in the ECNL and was a DII MIAA state champion in 2025.
Paterson is from Calgary, Alberta, and played in the Blizzard League 1. She previously played with Foothills 08, which was ranked first in the nation for four seasons and won the league five times. Paterson had also won gold at the Alberta Winter Games and was the youngest player on the team that won Alberta League 1.
Price, a transfer student from Long Island University, hails from Liverpool, England, and played for Liverpool FC. She had previously won the Liverpool FA County Cup in the PGA U21 league.
This class of newcomers will enter the new season with hopes to improve the team that finished 3-7-6 overall in the 2025 season. The women’s soccer season will begin in August.
